She quoted me!!

“I liken the things around me to visual noise, and it can either be music and things that make you feel filled up, or it can be clutter,” says Michelle Elliott, a consultant from Portland, Oregon. “When there’s a lot of stuff around me it becomes noisy in my head and in my heart.”

What a strange thing...seeing your thoughts in print.  I was approached a couple of months ago, by Maryam Siddiqi, to talk about my thoughts on minimalism for a piece she was writing for Festival Style magazine.  While I don't consider myself to be a minimalist in the purest sense of the word, I often find myself in a state of purge...ready to let it all go.  I am one of those folks who dreams of opening my doors and offering it all up for sale.  When I grow up, all I truly want is a tiny cabin with a super cozy bed, a fireplace, and a tub for soaking.  I would love for my home to be on a big piece of land with a creek and shop out back where I can tinker.  This is my plan for grand-parenthood...a spot just big enough to cuddle up with those tiny folks and an outdoor space with plenty of room to roam.  Dreams...they really do come true.
